Here are some common questions about therapy, pricing, and what to expect in sessions.
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
Sometimes people come into therapy saying, “Nothing is really wrong, but something feels off.” If you feel disconnected from yourself, stuck in patterns you don’t fully understand, or quietly overwhelmed, therapy can be a space to slow down and listen more closely. You don’t need a clear diagnosis or perfectly formed goals. Curiosity and a willingness to explore are enough to begin.
What can I expect in our first session?
Our first session is a gentle conversation that opens the door for deeper trust and connection between us. This is the space to get to know each other and explore what’s bringing you to therapy. There’s no pressure to share everything at once. You set the pace, and together we’ll begin to understand what feels most important to focus on.
How do I get started?
You can begin by scheduling a free 15–20 minute phone or video consultation. This is a chance to ask questions, share a bit about what you’re looking for, and get a sense of whether working together feels like a good fit. There’s no obligation, just space to connect.
Do you offer online or in-person sessions?
I currently offer online therapy sessions for clients throughout California.
How often do we meet?
Most clients begin with weekly sessions. This helps create consistency and safety as we build the therapeutic relationship. Over time, we can adjust the frequency based on your needs and what feels supportive.
How long will therapy take?
There’s no fixed timeline. Some people come for a shorter period to focus on a specific concern, while others stay longer as their work deepens. We’ll regularly check in about how therapy feels and what feels most useful for you.
How much does therapy cost, and do you take insurance?
My current rate is $195 per 50-minute session. I am an out-of-network provider which means I do not bill directly through insurance. I am happy to provide you with a superbill for you to submit to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement.
What if I’ve tried therapy before and it didn’t help?
That’s a very common experience. Therapy is deeply relational, and not every approach or therapist will feel right. Finding the right fit can take time. My work is focused on helping you feel safe enough to explore what may have felt overwhelming or inaccessible before. If something is nudging you in this direction and you're open to trying again, contact me.
What’s your cancellation policy?
I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling. This allows your session time to be offered to another client who may be waiting. If you cancel 24 hours or less before our scheduled appointment, you will be charged the full amount of the session fee.
